About:
I believe our most transformational healing occurs in relationship, and so I work to create a therapy experience that is active, honest, safe, and uplifting. My approach is trauma-informed and draws from attachment theory, internal family systems, polyvagal theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I am an LCMHCA and a staff psychotherapist at North Carolina Therapy Professionals. I am under the supervision of K. Linton. I have completed my Externship in EFT, and have trained in EFiT, AEDP, and certified in Empowered Relief and Brainspotting. I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community and enjoy working with those in the wide spectrum of queer identities. I am sex-positive, poly-affirming, and BDSM/Kink-friendly.
Costs:
Contact me to talk about costs. I am in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Sheild plans. I am not able to take insurance for couples sessions. I can provide a superbill for out-of-network benefits.
Working with insurance:
Confirming your out-of-network benefits for mental health can usually be done in one short phone call. Call the customer service number on your insurance card, and ask the following questions:
Benefits. “Do I have mental health coverage? Do I have out-of network benefits?”
Referral. “Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to use my mental health benefits?”
Deductible. “Do I have a deductible? How much is my deductible? How much has been paid this year?”
Rate. “What is the reimbursement rate for my out-of-network mental health benefits?”
Sessions. “Do I have a maximum number of psychotherapy sessions per year?”
Reimbursement. “How do I apply for reimbursement?”
